Some expected but certainly welcome news for Clemson following last night's bruising 70-65 defeat at Wake Forest, which knocked the Tigers from a possible No.3 seed and first-round ACC Tournament bye into Thursday's 9:30 p.m. (I hope) 6-11 matchup with N.C. State.
Senior forward Trevor Booker was held to just six points and four rebounds (and took home a nasty cut over his left eye thanks to a Chas McFarland elbow), but got a nice prize Monday when he was named first-team All-ACC by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ACSMA). He was also named to the league’s All-Defensive Team for the second straight season, and was the only player to be named both first-team All-ACC and All-Defensive Team this season.
He's Clemson's first front-court first-teamer since Elden Campbell and Dale Davis in 1990. Clemson’s last first-team honoree before Booker was guard Edward Scott in 2003. Booker is just the third Tiger to be named first-team All-ACC in the last 20 years.

Booker leads the Tigers (21-9, 9-7) in scoring at 15.3 points per game, and in rebounding (8.3 per game). It is the second straight season Booker has led Clemson in both statistical categories, and the fourth straight year he has led them in rebounding.
