ANDERSON - Emily Jean Deal and Ryan Clark Cummins were married November 22, 2008 at Boulevard Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny F. McKinney officiating. A reception followed at the Christian Activity Center at the church.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Scott Deal of Anderson. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Betty Anne Parris Deal of Spartanburg, S.C., and the late Rev. George William Deal, and Mrs. Mary Jean Quinn Settle of Inman, S.C., and the late Mr. Rufus Woodrow Settle.The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Keith Cummins of Beaufort, S.C.He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wayne Cummins of Beaufort, and Mr. and Mrs. William Rawlins Perry of Columbia, S.C.Maids of honor were Miss Mary Anne Deal of Columbia, and Miss Hollins Elaine Deal of Anderson, sisters of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Sydney Diane Cummins of Columbia, sister of the groom, Miss Susan Charlene Settle of Spartanburg, cousin of the bride, Miss Wendi Ellen Webber of Anderson and Miss Mary Kathleen Weeks of Decatur, GA, both childhood friends of the bride, and Miss Karen Lynn Bernthal of Columbia, college friend of the bride. Best man was Mr. Sidney Keith Cummins, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Mr. Perry Wilder Cummins of Beaufort, brother of the groom, Mr. Patrick Noel Cunningham of Jacksonville, FL, Mr. Joseph Toy Floyd of Beaufort, and Mr. Garrett Seago Priester of Beaufort, all childhood friends of the groom, Mr. George Brandon Fleetwood of Charleston, S.C., and Mr. Austin Grey McLain of Brunswick, GA, both college friends of the groom. Flower girl was Miss Olivia Parris Bussell of Lexington, S.C., cousin of the bride. Junior bridesmaids were Miss Kylee Reid Fain of Mount Vernon, KY, and Miss Lauren Elizabeth King of Broadhead, KY, both cousins of the groom. Wedding music was provided by Harpist, Ms. Mary Ellen Johns, Organist, Mr. Chad Anthony Martin, and Vocalists, Mrs. Geanenne Kelly, Mr. Derek Gillespie, and Mrs. Melinda Gillespie. The bride is a 2004 Graduate of T.L. Hanna High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. The groom is a 2003 graduate of Beaufort High School and a 2007 graduate of The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management. He is a senior field service representative at Carolina Sunrock in Raleigh, N.C. After a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
