Only a few days left until Election Day. Sen. Obama states that a McCain administration would be four more years of George Bush. This is not a truthful statement.
On numerous occasions, Sen. McCain has opposed the Bush administration’s policies as well as those of the Republican Party. Obama has never stood up to the Democrats. The Democrat-led Congress has a lower approval rating than that of President Bush.
McCain wants to freeze government spending except for the most vital functions. Obama wants to increase government spending and increase capital gains tax. President Carter did this, which resulted in job losses, lines at gas stations and interest rates hovering around 20 percent.
I urge all eligible voters to cast a ballot on Nov. 4, but remember that as well as enjoying the benefits, you must also be willing to accept the consequences of the vote that you cast.

There was a time when many people, myself included, respected Sen. McCain. But his erratic behavior, questionable judgment and advanced age make for a clear choice in this election. It is time for a new voice to lead this country. Obama = the change we need and the change we can believe in.

"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout,I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist Professors and the structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets. We smoked cigarettes and wore leather jackets. At night,in the dorms,we discussed neocolonialism,Franz Fanon,Eurocentrism, and patriarchy. When we ground out our cigarettes in the hallway carpet or set our stereos so loud that the walls began to shake,we were resisting bourgeois society's stifling constraints." - Barack Obama, Dreams of My Father

Again, the passage quoted above is ridiculous. College is a time of rebellion and discussion of ideas and philosophies. Anyone who feels that Obama is somehow less of a person because he listened to loud music, smoked cigarettes and had diverse friends must not have attended college. And as for McCains age, it's not a judgement, it's a simple fact. He is in his seventies and he's battled cancer in the past. You can't ignore that he is far more at risk healthwise than Obama.
andersonnews2008#274603 writes:
That quote reflects Obama's Marxist views that he has held all of his life. He said it in college and bragged about it years later in Dreams of My Father. He said it again here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iivL4c..., in 2001 as a state legislator and college professor.
And he said it again to Joe the Plumber, "sharing the wealth is a good thing."
I'm sorry for you that you can't realize that, localgirl. But you will when the super-majority of Democrats in Congress give him what he wants and you'll see it in your paycheck, or welfare check, whichever group you fall in.

SayWaht, you're smearing it on thick. Even Obama commends McCain for his service, and I like that about him. You apparently don't. You hide behind patriots like McCain and yell insults at them while they protect you. Like Bill Ayers. He tried to kill police then called them last week to escort him to his car past a reporter.
SayWhat, you are disgracing Barack's campaign. I'm sure he'll accept your vote, but he doesn't want or need another military-bashing radical speaking for him.
Stay on the issues.

The majority of Americans will be in the welfare catagory if the Republicans have their way. As it is, they're doing a great job of destroying the middle class.

The only real socialism surrounding this election is the Bailout, and unfortunately both candidates voted for it. I was hoping at least McCain would be against it, but he caved pretty quickly. Now he's working with Faux News and Drudge to label Obama a socialist? Please... pot and kettle.

Quote from Sarah Palin in last month's New Yorker magazine:
"And Alaska—we’re set up, unlike other states in the union, where it’s collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs."
Hmmn, almost sounds like...socialism???

Excuse you- I seen this on another blog and I'm posting it here, it seems neither candidate is squeaky clean- I don't know what the truth is with either candidate. And please DON'T assume who I'm voting for just because I don't like the way certain people attack, name call, and use scare tactics! If I were narrowed minded I would believe everything I read about each candidate. I AM able to read between the lines....
SayWhat writes:
One more thing andersonnews2008, I can tell you one thing- MY VOTE will NOT be for McCain/Palin ... Did you not know there are more than two candidtates on the ballot, (maybe I'll write in Colin Powell- let's keep it interesting). Do your research!
andersonnews2008#274603 writes:
You don't have to read between the lines SayWhat. I'll make it easy for you. When you attack John McCain's POW experience because you're voting for somebody else, then you're narrowminded, among other things, regardless of what you say.
dirtmcgurk writes:
I commend McCain's service to this country, but being a POW doesn't exactly have any bearing on your qualifications for president.

Attack??? You need to step back from these posts and get a grip. I copied an article (as you have about Senator Obama) and posted it here. My words have not said any negative things about any candidate. BTW I have a family member that served in the armed forces at the same time McCain did- he has "several" purple hearts and went through some terrible times also, but I'm thankful he too made it back home. So regardless of what you think I'm grateful for any individual that has served our country with pride and unselfishness.

Everybody seems to be focused on money, what about national security ? None of us will have to worry about what our paycheck looks like if we're no longer here because of terrorist attacks.
Obama's a smooth talker but that's all there is to him, just talk. CNN showed a clip of a reporter asking people in Obama's camp to name ONE thing Obama has accomplished as senator and they just stood there dumbfounded. I almost laughed but to think that someone so inexperienced could possibly become our next president is anything but funny.
Normally I wouldn't vote for a republican because they favor the rich but in this case I'm more concerned with our safety.McCain has the experience and he will do what it takes to protect the US.
