McCain the only choice

STORY TOOLS

I don’t understand the support for Barack Obama. Here’s my reasoning not to vote for him. First, he has no experience. He’s a one-term senator who has not headed anything. I understand people questioning Sarah Palin’s readiness to be president if anything happened to President McCain, but is Sen. Obama ready now? At least she heads a state government.

Second, his economic policies, reckless as they are in this poor economy, are pure socialism. Democrats want to “enhance” our lives, and Sen. Obama has said he wants to “spread the wealth.” This is America. I’ll enhance my own life, thank you. Let’s help those who truly need it, but we’ve created an entitlement, welfare state we cannot maintain.

Most of the jobs in this country are created by small business, including many making over $250,000. If taxed too much (and they are), they can’t hire and expand.

Third, his associations with the likes of Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezco, Bill Ayers, and ACORN are troubling. Even if his relationship with them could be explained away, they still bring up questions about his judgment.

Barack Obama is too liberal, too inexperienced, and has too many questionable ties to get my vote. Plus, I definitely don’t want a President Obama and a liberal Democratic-controlled Congress. While I have issues with John McCain, he is the only choice on Nov. 4.

After a flawless 2-year campaign, Americans are comfortable that Obama is ready for the job. He did something no Republican ever managed to do - defeat the Clintons. And the vast majority of Americans recognized that he bested McCain in every debate.

The socialism argument is silly. Obama will cut taxes for 95 percent of working families. The alternative is McCain, who will give tax cuts to huge corporations that ship jobs overseas. The correct choice there is simple.

Bush and the Republicans have gotten our nation into the current mess, it is the Democrats that will bail us out.

Lastly, McCain's close ties to Bush and his lack of sound judgment in picking Palin are far more troubling than any of Obama's past associations.

Vote Obama for the change we need and change we can trust.

in response to writerkirk

You need to read more. Oh and yes, Obama may be a better debater than McCain, but can he make a decision when he needs to? His record proves that he can't. Bush and the Republicans DID NOT get us into this mess. The Clinton administration pressured Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac into extending credit to people who normally wouldn't be able to get any. Clinton has admitted this himself. The New York Times, in 1999, predicted that the government would have to bail out the banks as a result of this. And it happened. Bush, in 2003, wanted to create an agency under the Department of the Treasury to assume supervision of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. The concept was met with opposition by the Congressional Democrats because at the time the lending agencies were not facing any kind of financial crisis. The Bush administration introduced the plan and it was well received by Fannie Mae and its leading rivals. It was criticized by the Democrats in Congress and National Association of Home Builders who feared "that tighter regulation of the companies could sharply reduce their commitment to financing low-income and affordable housing." Congressman Barney Frank stated that the two major lenders were not facing any financial crisis at the time.

I'm so tired of all the Bush and Republican bashing. While Bush may not be the "perfect" president and he has made some bad calls, he cannot be blamed for every crisis this country has or is facing. I would much rather have McCain associated with Bush, than to have Obama who is inexperienced, flip-flops, and has been associated with some very questionable figures.

Oh, here's something else to think about, since "Bush and the Republicans have gotten our nation into the current mess".

"Barack Obama's Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Connection"

John Gibson of Fox News wrote an article by this title on September 16, 2008, quoting sources from the Center for Responsive Politics. In it, Gibson stated that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had used "huge lobbying budgets and political contributions to keep regulators off their backs." According to the article, "The top three U.S. senators getting big Fannie and Freddie political bucks were DEMOCRATS and No. 2 is SEN. BARACK OBAMA.

The Center for Responsive Politics (CRP), according to their web site, is a "nonpartisan guide to money’s influence on U.S. elections and public policy."

According to the report posted on the CRP web site Donations for the Illinois senator from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac report between 1989-2008 tabulated up to $126,349. The same report show John McCain contributions from the same group tabulated to $21,550.

A New York Times article dated September 9,2008 stated both candidates had ties with the lending giants but Senator Obama "is second among members of Congress in donations from the firms’ employees and political action committees."

A History Lesson
In the late 1950's most Cubans thought Cuba needed "a change"
and they were right. So when a young, dynamic leader came along,
every Cuban was at least receptive. When the young leader spoke
eloquently and passionately and denounced the old system, the
press fell in love with him. They never questioned who his
friends were or what he really believed in. He said he would
help the farmers and the poor and bring free medical care and
education to all, and everyone followed. He said he would bring
justice and equality to all, and everyone said "Praise the Lord!"
The young leader said, "I will be for change and I'll bring you
change," and everyone yelled, "Viva Fidel!" But by the time the
executioner' s guns went silent, the people's guns had been taken
away. By the time everyone was equal, they were equally poor,
hungry, and oppressed. By the time everyone received their free
education it was worth nothing.By the time the press noticed,
it was too late, because they were now working for him. By
the time "the change" was finally implemented Cuba had been
knocked down a couple of notches to Third-World status. By the
time the change was over more than a million people had taken to
boats, rafts, and inner tubes. Luckily, we in America would
never fall for a young leader who promised change without
asking, "what change?" Would we?

Obama has promised two major initiatives as soon as he becomes president.

First, he wants to close down talk radio with the so called "Fairness Doctrine."

And remember this Orwellian "Fairness" broadcasting law could easily be made to apply to Fox News, Limbaugh, Hannity, or anything that is labeled conservative. A few of you on here will probably like to see that happen, but everybody should have the Freedom of Speech, whether you're conservative or not.

Second, Obama wants to give 12 million illegals citizenship. You may recall the Democrats tried that in 2007 but failed.

This time Obama will have super-majorities in the Senate and the House.

He will get his wish.

As these illegals become citizens, most will register as Democrats and vote for Democratic candidates.

Obama knows that by granting millions of illegals citizenship they will have a super-majority over the Republicans in every future national election.

This single act — giving illegals citizenship — will give the Democrats permanent control over the House and Senate for a generation to come.

That's what's immediately at stake here...not to mention redistribution of wealth and a weakened national defense.

In a nutshell, the America we know will cease to exist if Obama is elected. God have mercy on us!

God have mercy on us? No, we will be fine. I am so glad to have someone running who actually cares about the working class. America will be fine. And it will be better. Obama won't do everything he says he will, what politician does? He will make even me, the strongest of supporters upset at times. But, with republican rule for 4 more years, there will be such a divide between rich and poor, with no middle class, a war of classes could take place. With more middle and lower class people being the norm, who would win that? Give him a chance. We had to put up with your choice for 8 long, boring, years. Change is coming and you will just have to deal with it or move.

How does Obama care about the working class? What has he DONE to show he's for the working class? All he cares about is his agenda-Not you, me, or anyone else. Bush and the Republicans have done more to put money in my pocket than anyone else ever has. There has always been a divide between the rich and the poor. There always will be. But you can't just look at things from only a financial standpoint. Who will make you feel safe from terrorists? The one who has vowed to cut the military? Who will try to stop illegal immigrants from coming in and taking YOUR job? You won't have to worry about taxes, 'cause you won't have a job to be able to pay them. Who is going to be the best overall to take care of the American people? I already know that answer. It's John McCain. He has my vote! McCain-Palin '08!!!

WBEZ Chicago Public Radio, the station that hosted the Obama interviews that have been getting so much press from Drudge, Fox, and McCain, released a statement confirming that the Youtube video is actually a spliced version of the interviews that misrepresents what Obama was trying to say.

http://apps.wbez.org/blog/?p=639?
http://www.wbez.org/Content.aspx?audi...

FTA: "The twist here is that, when heard in the context of the whole show, Obama’s position is distinctly misrepresented by the You Tube posting. Taken in context, Obama is evaluating the historical successes and failures of the Civil Rights movement—and, ironically, he says the Supreme Court was a failure in cases that it took on a role of redistributing resources."

The full interview also underscores Obama's position is that the supreme court shouldn't be used to correct laws, and instead congress should change the laws. If I'm not mistaken, this is a pretty standard conservative view.

in response to andersonnews2008

Andersonnews-
I don't think you actually read my rebuttals, but here goes.

First- Obama is firmly against the Fairness Doctrine.

http://www.broadcastingcable.com/arti...

Second- Granting citizenship to illegals would not only make them pay taxes, but also force employers to pay them the same wages as everyone else and thus eliminate their prime appeal: cheap labor. Illegals already have the labor market cornered, and making them pay taxes and conform to minimum wage laws is the only way to ensure fairness for American laborers.

"Wealth redistribution" has no place in a free democracy.

It is, however, the cornerstone of a COMMUNIST DICTATORSHIP:
"We cannot expect the Americans to jump from capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of socialism until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism."

- Soviet Leader Nikita Khrushchev, 1959

NOBAMA! NOBAMA!

From Diick Morris (Bill Clinton's brilliant strategist)

"The unprecedented power the bailout has given government over the banking industry raises the real specter of socialism in America. The banks have, effectively, been nationalized.

How will government use its power over them? This new reality, coupled with Obama's professed pursuit of "social and political justice" through "redistribution of the wealth," is enough to send a shiver down the spine of those who embrace the free market as the key to economic growth."

That's Obama's plan for the classes.

"It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion. "
-Adam Smith (founder of modern capitalism)

Socialism is when the means of production are owned and controlled by the government. It has nothing to do with taxes. There are many issues in which John McCain differs from Obama. Perhaps you should use those as arguments instead.

Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee, brings far more promise to the office. In a time of grave economic crisis, he displays thoughtful analysis, enlists wise counsel and operates with a cool, steady hand. The same cannot be said of Sen. McCain."—Alaska Daily News

The nation’s problems are simply too grave to be reduced to slashing 'robo-calls' and negative ads. This country needs sensible leadership, compassionate leadership, honest leadership and strong leadership. Barack Obama has shown that he has all of those qualities.'"—New York Times editorial board

Who better than Barack Obama to bring new credibility to America's role in the world and restore our moral authority?"—John Kerry

3 groups of people in this country will thrive if Obama wins...the Mexicans, the Muslims, and the Lazy.

in response to localgrl

I have no doubt that Obamas rise has been well thought out for many years...by the radical muslim that paid for his education, by the radical preacher that influenced him, and by the black liberationist wife that pushed him.

He will calmly, cooly, and thoughtfully lead us down the road to marxism.

I never thought I would see the day when I would be looking to a democratic congress to protect us.

Barack Obama Myth: "Obama is a Muslim."
Not true. Obama is a long-time Christian. His father was a practicing Muslim at one time, true, but not by the time he'd met and married Barack's mother. In any case, Barack's parents divorced when he was two years old, and his father all but vanished from his life at that point. He himself chose Christianity as an adult, joining the Church of Christ in the mid-1980's. He has been a member of that denomination ever since.

Barack Obama Myth: "Obama does not salute the flag."
Not true. Barack learned the Pledge from his grandfather, a WWII veteran.

Barack Obama Myth: "Obama's books contain racially charged remarks."
Not true. Those quoted passages are universally altered, manipulated, or altogether fabricated.

Barack Obama Myth: "Obama wants to tax everything we have -- including our water!"
Not true. Barack Obama wants the tax code to favor honest, hard-working people, and he has proposed a $1,000 tax cut for middle class families. The email being sent around is too long to cover here, but Factcheck.org, a nonpartisan nonprofit voter advocacy group, has debunked the email point-by-point here. They state that "This widely distributed message is so full of misinformation that we find it impossible to believe that it is the result of simple ignorance or carelessness on the part of the writer. Almost nothing it says about Obama's tax proposals is true. We conclude that this deception is deliberate." To which we answer, no kidding.

Barack Obama Myth: "Obama won't win."
Two words. BULL, POOP!

in response to localgrl

Locagrl...Let's test your logic:

He is a christian because he spent twenty years in a christian church. Ok then it follows that he is a radical, anti-white, anti-american racist...because that is what the church stood for.

He learned the pledge from his grandfather. Ok then why doesn't he participate?

His books are altered...yea right! Someone snuck into the printing room and changed it before it was inked!

He doesn't want to tax everyone. When he started his campaign he called being rich anyone that earns a million a year, he has been adjusting that number down steadily...according to Biden it now stands at 150,000. If it takes taxing the water to pay for all the programs he wants he'll do it.

I doubt any of you Obama supporters have the courage to actually read facts, but try these if you dare:

http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/0...

http://www.rense.com/general80/fon.htm

Obama is just the product of a long line of black muslim radicals, ultra white liberals, and a black liberationist wife and preacher. They latched onto him during his college years at Columbia and have been steering him to this day ever since.

There is one company in America that must be doing very well these days...the makers of Koolaid!

TO THOSE WHO UNDERSTAND NO EXPLANATION IS NECESSARY

TO THOSE WHO DON'T NO EXPLANATION IS POSSIBLE

Wow, you people are thick. Still on the muslim thing. Did you know your pal McCain was selling us out when he was a pow? He is not the wonderful man you think he is. The whole party of Republicans needs rethink their values. They cannot relate to the normal working class. But, yeehaw! I keep forgetting where I am. Vote for who you want but I know who the real winner is Obama.

in response to Laughing_Out_Loud

I don't understand- why do you sound like you hate a man you have never met, a man that hasn't done anything to you?? I've seen people disagree with their candidates opponents before, but this goes alot deeper. Does it bother you because his mother is WHITE and you are a white man and his father is black??

To laughing out loud, Want to be childish? Two kinds of republicans, The rich and the dumb, where are you at?

in response to sbebe

How, exactly, did McCain sell us out when he was a POW? What proof do you have? How have the Republicans not related to the working class?

in response to sbebe

Rich enough to need a stimulus check, dumb enough to vote Obama...thats where I and a couple of million lower middle class people are at...

...right where the left wing wants us.

...and right where the right wing left us.

our options are: voting for a hot-headed, firebomber....or

a smooth talking salesman...

neither, qualified to be president.

Someone on this thread should thank President Bush for the mess we are in today...because the mess that we are going to be in the future?...with one of these two guys? No words to describe.

...the troops won't be coming home...

I'll take McCain...he couldn't sell fish to a fish fry.

To moonbeam01us...

You are not wrong, but don't just blame Bush. Blame the entire country for not being able to come up with better than a washed up old politician and a con man to vote for.

I"ll take the old politician...because once he gets finished trying to say whatever it takes to get elected, he may just make a pretty good president. I will not vote for a guy that won't answer questions about his past, has been supported by our enemies, and who prey's on the poor, young and hopeless to get elected.

To Sbebe and SayWhat:

I never said he was a muslim, nor am I rich or dumb...

But I do recognize a scoundrel when I see one.

This guy has been heavily influenced and propped up by people that do not have the best intentions for our country. If he was willing to explain it instead of trying to supress it I would think better of him, but unfortunately all I see is a man trying to get elected before the truth comes out.

I have worked extremely hard for everything my family has, and I denounce anyone that says someone that didn't do the same deserves the fruits of my labors more than we do. You may say he is trying to help, I say he will do more harm than good.

We are all after the same thing...a better life. The difference between us is that I am willing to get a better life on my own, and you appear to want help getting one...once I get that better life I don't want to give it away, and I bet you won't either!

Well everyone can vote for who they want. I just want everyone to go vote.I sure don't like to argue or cause bad feelings. Politics are such a touchy subject and nobody will change anyones mind. In the end we will have one of these two for at least four years, like it or not. I really just want to have the same chances and choices generations before me have had. To everyone, see you Tuesday.

in response to Laughing_Out_Loud

Sorry but those answers were not meant for me, you evidently got two bloggers mixed up. Please read my post again.

FYI I'm an independent and I'm not belittling either candidate. All I know about each one is what the media says, and I'm NOT the type of person to believe everything I hear or see when it comes to politics. They both are telling their supporters EXACTLY what they want to hear, whether they can perform those miracles or not. I've never seen some many people so uptight over candidates, the whole nation is suffering, it's not just you. I'm thankful I can think for myself and if a wrong decison is made I have no one to blame but me!

in response to Laughing_Out_Loud

Laughing_Out_Loud - Let's test your logic....I've actually read his book so I could see first hand if materials were altered and/or taken out of context - They Were. I've actually viewed video of Obama LEADING the pledge of Allegiance. It's available on any number of websites and I recommend that you check them out as well as your distorted radical right wing sites. While I'm certain you'll claim some sort of conspiracy theory to explain away both his written words and the video, I just wish that you would quit posting whatever you wish were true as opposed to what is.

in response to localgrl

Many people disagree with you on his book, I have seen him refuse to honor the flag or the pledge, and these facts are not coming from radical right wing publications. I don't like those people any more than you do. The information I post comes from from some of the most trustworthy and non-partisan political sources of information in the world.

Your views are based on interpretations...mine are based on facts....allthough I admit genuine historical facts about Obama are hard to find, as he keeps a tight lid on them.

in response to Laughing_Out_Loud

Again-- I don't understand- why do you sound like you hate a man you have never met, a man that hasn't done anything to you?? I've seen people disagree with their candidates opponents before, but this goes alot deeper. Does it bother you because his mother is WHITE and you are a white man and his father is black??

In response to the writer of this article Greg Gambrell;

I feel the exact same way about Obama and to the life of me I can not understand why so many other folks can’t see this side of Obama. Also on numerous occasions he has changed his statements and flat out lied to the American people. It don’t take much researching to find the true Obama.

in response to Laughing_Out_Loud

Laughing_Out_Loud - Have you read Obama's book? Have you viewed the video of him leading the Pledge of Allegiance? My "interpretations", as you call them, are based on what my own eyes have seen - not what I read on other sites.

Nothing I have said should give anyone cause to believe I am a rascist. I have never criticized his race...just his policies and ideals, his vision for America, his affiliations, and the way he dances around the truth like a maypole.

What is it with you people that can't reply to any serious criticism of Obama without eventually calling us all a bunch of racists? Maybe it bothers YOU that he's black!

Quite frankly I think a black president would be great for the country...just not this particular black guy.

Your tone when you talk about him speaks volumes. I'm not voting for McCain but I don't talk him down or try to degrade him. You act as if this man has committed a crime against you.

You people?! LoL One of my best friends is black and she has been my friend for a very long time.... people need to get over the skin- NO ONE had a choice as to what race they were born in!

This country is doomed with either candidate. Vote third party!!!

in response to patriot

Like Ralph Nader? Pass

I wonder if people are afraid to vote for Obama because of his race...Lets be realistic for a moment: If he wins then history is changed forever...This will mean that Korean-Americas, Mexican-Americas, Arab-Americas and OMG WOMEN all have a chance to become President of the United States. People are so afraid of change-remember when Rock-n-roll was introduced to the world...all those people wanted to stop it from happening...Rock-n-roll succeeded boys and girls and guess what we all love this change.

Now let’s get political here:

I wonder how many people understand the power behind Rhetoric!

John McCain I actually like him! He is an amazing hero with an incredible story! I don't think he is completely on Bush's side like Obama is trying to say. I think he is somewhat more liberal, I mean alot of Republicans didn't like him being the nominate because of some of his views being liberal. His choice in Palin though umm nope! They show a one sided view of Palin on the media and I don't like that at all. Let's talk about the Republican Convention: the media was interviewing people who were friends of either McCain or Palin therefore it was a bias opinion. I never once heard them interview someone random in the audience. I watch both Republican and Democratic conventions closely.

I know some people from Alaska that don't think that highly of her being the VP choice. These people have told me that she is a good governor but they don't think she is ready for this high position. After watching the documentary on her on CNN I thought, ok she is competitive--referring to her basketball skills (which is great!), she fights dirty which could be alright, hide her pg while in office so she could do her work---went back to work 3 days after giving birth to her child w/ down syndrome(shows strength)--although slaves gave birth and went back into the fields right afterwards so the strength part could be a great thing and even a bad thing in regards to this don't mean you can get the job done, For some people are only good at certain things: not all things.

She exposed corruption in government only to later resign herself---befriended people with power that she knew would place her in higher positions later (clever), made certain promises to the people in Alaska on doing certain task---passing certain bills---once she got elected as governor she didn't follow through with it (That I have a problem with), Her view on abortion (even if the victim was raped or its incest cannot abort) disagree greatly because the outcome could produce physical, mental and psychological problems, her view on separation of church and state (WOW), and last in regards to McCain he didn't even know her and I feel that he chose her solely because she was a woman and they wanted Hillary's voters. On top of this the McCain campaign are trying to use reverse sexism to get people to pity and focus on Palin.

People really need to pay attention to Rhetoric and see past the BS, is she really ready to take McCain's place if something happened to him? The media is trying to make it seem as if she is the only female whose been nominated in a VP or presidential position, which is WRONG!!!

Have people forgotten about: 1964 Senator Margaret Chase Smith, the first US woman to have her name placed in nomination for President by a major party; 1972 Shirley Anita St. Hill Chisholm, the first African American woman to seek a major party’s nomination for President, 1972 Patsy Takamoto Mink, she ran as an anti-war candidate in the 1972 Oregon Democratic presidential primary , 1976 and 1980 Ellen McCormack, who ran in the Democratic Presidential Primary race in 1976, or what about 1984 Gavrielle Holmes, her running-mate was Gloria E. LaRiva. She had been Vice-Presidential candidate in 1980. **All women**

I think Palin and McCain are great individuals but I am concerned with Palin's record in office. I don't care if she didn't have that much experience what concerns me is the lack of great changes that she made happen while in that executive seat. I know sometimes it's hard and takes time to pass bills but I see more mistakes in her visions and decisions then I see greatness. I need to know that if something was to happen to McCain that she would be able to get the job done successfully and not lead us to Hell in a hand basket. Don't get me wrong Obama has some flaws also but at least he has Joe Biden. McCain could make changes but his age is a big deal, I would feel more confident in him if he chose someone other than Palin. I think he is underestimating her and perhaps I am too but I'm looking at her record. Although Obama did great things as a community organizer the fact is that he lacks experience, Joe Biden on the other hand has experience and knows alot about Foreign Policy. Therefore, I believe that Obama would listen to Biden when it comes to certain things. Palin simply scares me!!

If only Hillary was a Republican I think I would consider but she's not...I can't deal with 8 more years, gas is too high it's almost 5 dollars!!! Getting too high to travel by car and plane...and I love to fly!!

Times are hard, wish we could go back to when we rode horses; all they need is water, grass and some minerals....

Greg,
I will explain the support for Barack Obama to you in simple terms.
Obama is very intelligent and capable. His experience may be limited in your opinion but his ability to serve is tremendous. Have you listened to anything he has said? He doesn't see Americans as democrats or republicans but as a whole people who need to work together. His performance during the Wall Street melt-down has been outstanding. He has remained calm and continously formulating plans to address the crisis. McCain was erratic and changed his policies almost daily.
Obama is NOT a socialist. The bailout itself was a socialist act. Ever hear of our other socialist programs like social security, medicare and medicade? McCain wants to maintain the Bush policies of serving the wealthy and maybe the middle class might benefit from a trickle down effect. Greg, read this carefully: if you make less than $250,000 your taxes will remain the same or go down. Most small business make less than $250,000 a year and the plan will not tax them, and most business will not be taxed until they make over $500,000.
John McCain and Palin are LOSING this election and have sunk to the lowest means to try to win.
Obama is too liberal? That is a republican code word for saying someone is un-American.
Greg, I know you are probally like most of the people in this state: poorly read, limited in your intellectual horizions, beliving everything told to you by people you may respect as authority figures. Possibly clergy? You can't help being ignorant and you fear something different coming your way. George Bush was comfortable and McCain is more of the reassuring same. But look what has happened to this country? Do you want this to continue? And lets face it Obama is Black and a threat to your established, old fashioned world. Guess what? This is the 21st Century. Perhaps South Carolina might try coming out of the 19th.
McCain offers us nothing. Palin is just a token woman used to try to get the women's vote. She is totally unqualified for the position of VP and heaven help us if she ever became president. Even thought she has gleefully spewed vile, lies with glee I almost feel sorry for her.
Obama frightens you?. McCain is my nightmare. He is erratic, unable to control his emotions and I think, has some mental problems associated with his age and/or his years as a POW. Thank God Obama is going to win and he will perhaps, be one of our greatest presidents.

I know the UK is worried about Obama. But our good friends the Iranians, as well as the Cubans and Venezuelan,s are THRILLED at the prospect of his presidency (THAT should speak volumes...). He’s going to “Change the World!!”

in response to SayWhat

SayWhat...

The "tone" you speak of is the same one I use for Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and a few others not worth mentioning. It has nothing to do with skin color, but everything to do with what I believe these people intend to do with the country.
By the way I just have friends...I don't break them down into race when I talk about them.

in response to Laughing_Out_Loud

I bet you don't have to! LoL

I'll agree with what u235 said. I have the exact same feelings about Obama that the writer of the article does, pretty much word for word.
I would also like to say that a majority of the responses to this article or top-notch and well thought out and written. I, like many others here, cannot for the life of me figure out why so many are falling for Obama's bull. I lay most of the blame on the media. The rest, I suppose, is just pure ignorance, and obviously some of it is racially motivated. I think that many black americans thought that Obama would have to face a lot of racial hatred and would possibly fall short due to ignorant white racists. But I believe that it has worked just the opposite for Obama. I think that he will get more votes for being black than not.
Everyone needs to remember, McCain is not Bush. And also remember, Bush didn't get us into all this mess (as another poster stated). For the last 2 years the House and Senate have been led by a Democratic Majority. Look where it has gotten us. If they get a Democrat President to back them up, we are doomed.
Has there ever been a Presidential candidate with a more damaging, questionable past than Obama? And for his past to just be brushed aside by those that support him is simply amazing to me. And his past is all that we have to go on, because he has no experience. He's simply said what many want to hear. Since when did politicians tell the truth?
