Mr. and Mrs. Charles Applewhite

ANDERSON, SC - Mr. and Mrs. Charles Applewhite celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary August 31, 2008 with a worship service in song at Forest Hill Baptist Church. A reception followed in the Fellowship Hall, hosted by their three sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Janet, Steve and Cassie and Brad and Lisa, all of Anderson. The couple were married August 30, 1958 at Grace Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. F.R. McAlister. Barbara is the daughter of the late Virginia Carlisle of Greenwood, SC and the late Paul McElrath of Greenville, SC. She is retired from AnMed Health Medical Center. Charles is the son of the late Curtiss and Lilly Applewhite of Anderson. He is retired from Ryobi Manufacturing. The couple have seven wonderful grandchildren, Eric, Evin, Emily, Amber, Ashley, Hannah and Joshua. They attribute their long lasting marriage to their faith in God, loving family and friends and lots of fun and laughter each day. They also feel truly blessed to be a part of such a loving church family.
