ANDERSON COUNTY — Candidates for the South Carolina Senate District 3 seat are to be part of an event at Tri-County Technical College on Monday.

Democrat Dr. Marshall Meadors is challenging District 3 incumbent Kevin Bryant, R-Anderson, in the Nov. 4 general election. District 3 covers the northern portion of Anderson County.

The event is scheduled to happen from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The session, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the Marshall Parker Auditorium on the Pendleton campus of the college on U.S. 76.

The school’s Arts and Sciences Enrichment Series Committee is sponsoring the event.

This session is to include Bryant, Meadors and Bob Peter, a political science instructor at Tri-County Tech. An interactive question and answer session will be part of the event.

The session will introduce the audience to state-level politics by explaining what the job of a South Carolina state senator is. Those who attend can learn more about the candidates, what they stand for, and what they plan to do if elected to office.
